12 Most Anticipated TV Series Arriving in 2021

2020 was really the year of TV and streaming services as most of the films got delayed. Hopefully, things will turn out for the movie department in 2021. But that doesn’t mean it won’t be a good year for TV shows. In fact, there’s a chance that the TV side of things might still rule. We’ve already had a great start with Cobra Kai season 3. But, here’s a list of 12 other most anticipated TV series that are set to arrive this year:

The Book of Boba Fett

The Mandalorian season 2 ended in the best way possible. Luke Skywalker took Grogu as his new Padawan. Mando and Bo-Katan are set to reestablish Mandalore. As for Boba Fett, he took the throne on Tatooine. Before we get to see Din Djarin return in The Mandalorian season 3, Boba Fett and Fennec Shand will kick ass in The Book of Boba Fett. It arrives in December, only on Disney+. Hopefully, Timothy Olyphant’s Cobb Vanth will also be returning.

WandaVision

Wanda and Vision will commence MCU’s Phase 4 with their most awaited return. Yes, Vision did die in Avengers: Infinity War, but Wanda will bring him back with her newly unlocked reality warping powers. This could turn out to be the most mind bending MCU series of all time. WandaVision’s Disney+ premiere is set for January 15.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Right after WandaVision ends, Disney+ will bring us a cinematic event that’s wrapped in 6 long episodes. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will carry the legacy of Captain America from March 19 and beyond. Along with Sam and Bucky, we’d see a few familiar characters like Baron Zemo, Sharon Carter and Batroc the Leaper make their return. And then, there will be plenty of new ones as well. Expect this series to be as action packed as any big budget MCU film.

Loki

The God of Mischief will finally step out of Thor’s shadow in May. After Avengers: Endgame set Loki on a new path within a new timeline, Disney+ will allow him to seek redemption for attacking New York. In a twisted turn of events, he’d be captured, and then recruited by the Time Variance Authority to possibly take on Lady Loki.

Halo

The Halo series has been under development since forever. We’re still not a 100% sure if the series will arrive on Showtime in 2021. But we really hope that Pablo Schreiber will be seen as Master Chief within this year. Steven Spielberg is producing this video game based series, and The Covenant alien race will be the bad guys. So, you’ve got to be psyched for it!

Lord of the Rings

Amazon Prime is set to bring us the live action Lord of the Rings series that will take place in the Second Age of Tolkien’s universe. The series is expected to arrive in 2021, and it will have as many as 20 episodes of awesomeness. At least 5 seasons of this big budget fantasy project are being planned at Amazon.

Vikings: Valhalla

Netflix’s Vikings: Valhalla will take place over a hundred years after the satisfactory ending of MGM and History’s original Vikings series. By this time, the familiar names of Ragnar Lothbrook, Lagertha, Bjorn Ironside and Ivar the Boneless will have become legends. The show had been under production in 2020, and will certainly arrive this year with 24 new episodes.

The Witcher (Season 2)

COVID-19 delayed the production of Netflix’s The Witcher season 2, but Henry Cavill is set to return as Geralt of Rivia later this year. Geralt and Ciri united towards the end of the first season, while Yennefer’s fate hangs in the balance. So, it will be interesting to see how the story continues from that point onwards.

Stranger Things (Season 4)

Even more than The Witcher, people are really looking forward to the fourth season of Stranger Things. We witnessed the supposed death of Jim Hopper in season 3. But then Netflix launched a new trailer, and revealed his true fate. Somehow, he survived ended up in Russia. Now we’re intrigued to see how he’d make his way back to the US.

Lucifer (Season 5 – Part 2)

God himself showed up on Earth in Lucifer season 5 part I. Now, everyone’s extremely excited for the family reunion of Lucifer, Amenadiel, God and Michael. Season 5’s Part II will arrive within the first half of 2021. Hopefully Luci and Detective Decker won’t break up!

You (Season 3)

Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) unwillingly got married to Love Quinn by the end of You season 2. Now, this psycho romance thriller will continue later in the year. Despite the fact that Joe is going to be a father, he will try to escape from his “toxic” relationship with Quinn. Instead, he’d try to make things work with a mysterious new crush.

The Last Kingdom (Season 5)

During the pandemic, Netflix renewed The Last Kingdom for its fifth season. Now, Uhtred will be realizing that his destiny is more than just Bebbanburg. It is tied to the future of the entire kingdom of England. And because of that, his dream of taking over Bebbanburg might just have to wait.
