With Iron Man’s death in Avengers: Endgame and Rhodey aka War Machine getting impersonated by a Skrull, fans would like to see one major scene in the upcoming projects in the MCU. Since War Machine has allegedly been kidnapped, Rhodey is still probably unaware of his best friend’s death!

War Machine Doesn’t Know That Iron Man…Is Dead

With Marvel’s Secret Invasion, it was shown that the character was impersonated by a female Skrull. This implies that the actual War Machine was kidnapped and is held somewhere alive. Although it isn’t confirmed, theories speculated that he was switched after the events of Captain America: Civil War.

After he was shot down by Vision during the airport fight scene, the character was severely wounded but alive. With a female Skrull impersonating his character, Rhodey is indeed alive somewhere. However, we don’t know whether he is aware of the current situation or not. Fans want to see one thing, however, and they want the MCU to include it desperately.

It seems that Rhodey is unaware that his best friend Robert Downey Jr.‘s Iron Man has sacrificed his life to save humanity against Thanos. With Iron Man snapping his hand to reverse the blip and erase Thanos and his army of existence, the “I am Iron Man” scene became one of the most iconic scenes in history. War Machine, however, wasn’t there to see it and fans want Rhodey’s reaction when he gets to know about his best friend’s death.

In Marvel’s Secret Invasion, it was seen that Rhodey was kept in Gravik’s compound. Gravik served as the leader of the radical Skrull resistance and War Machine had been kept in their captivity ever since the speculated events of Captain America: Civil War.

At the end of the series, the real Rhodey is freed and finally joins the heroes’ side once again. It hasn’t been confirmed whether the character will make an appearance again in the MCU but considering how Marvel Studios do not like to leave loose ends, it isn’t a faraway possibility that War Machine could either die in the fight or retire just like how Captain America did.

All the heroes are rumored to collide once more during the events of Avengers: Secret Wars and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and fans would like to see more of Rhodey’s involvement in the affairs in Phases 5 and 6 of the MCU.
